The Pacific Alumni Association recognized the Low family with the 2018 Outstanding Family Award at its 59th annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner on January 27 at the Don and Karen DeRosa University Center on the Stockton campus. Created in 1964, this award honors a family with members who have attended the University and who have given special service, made outstanding contributions and brought great honor to Pacific.
The Low family, dedicated to service, education and making a difference, has set an exemplary standard of commitment to Pacific. There have been 16 Low family members who have attended or are attending Pacific, and 11 of them have attended the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
The first generation of family members includes the late Dr. Howard Low β38, the late Dr. William G. Low β43 and the late Dr. Lawrence K. Low β44. The second generation includes Hanmin Liu DDS, PhD β66 COP, a past recipient of Pacificβs Distinguished Professional Service Award; Dr. Everett Low β74; Dr. Gary Low β76, who serves on the Dugoni School Foundation Board; Dr. Willard Low β77; Dr. Lester Low β86, who has served as an adjunct professor at the Dugoni School of Dentistry; Wendy Low β86 MUS; Dr. Lyndon Low β88, who served on the Pacific Alumni Association Board from 2001-2006; and Dr. Richard R. Gallagher β99 (husband of Mari-Ann Low). The new generation includes Kristin Okazaki β08 BUS, Dr. Jennifer Low β12, Dr. Christian Low β14 and current students Carina Low, Pharmacy Class of 2018, and Jonathan Low, DDS Class of 2019.
