Legacy can be defined as something handed down from one generation to another. The Merriam-Webster dictionary says “something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past.”
Spring is a season of new beginnings and reinvigoration; it’s also a time of transformation, growth and energy around the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
With your help, we will strengthen our culture of humanism, enhance our relentless focus on excellence in our programs and build an institution true to our commitment to excellence, respect, trust and integrity.
After an intensive focus on our “place,” we are eagerly refocusing on the success of our people and programs.
When I first started as a new student in our school in 1991, I never would have imagined my path would lead me to my new role as interim dean. Having the opportunity to serve in this position is a tremendous honor. I am thrilled to carry on the legacy of leadership at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
Building towards a healthy future calls for interconnectivity, something we’re aspiring to achieve in multiple ways.
We may be in a new location, but our alumni and friends will always have a place to call home in San Francisco.
As I reflect on the past few months, Janus captures the spirit of this season of movement and change. We are in transit. And, our transition gives us the opportunity to look both forwards and backwards.
